Aging Resources of Central Iowa issued the following announcement.
Falls are the number one cause of injury in adults over 55.
1 out of 3 adults over 65 fall each year
Falling once doubles your chances of falling again.
Falling is NOT inevitable
Tai Chi has been proven to be a specific fall risk reduction exercise program that we are happy to offer at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Tai chi combines the physical components of leg strength, flexibility, range of motion, and reflexes; along with the mindfulness of coordination and balance.
$25 for 16 sessions of Tai Chi
Class meets every Monday and Wednesday beginning at 3:30 and ending at 4:30 starting Feb 4th and ending on March 27th.
Entrance is behind the hospital on Woodland Ave under the Blue awning. Take the elevators to Floor 5. Take a right off the elevators and the classroom will be on your left hand side before you reach the nurses station.
