Finding family owned companies is becoming harder and harder, given that the best way to be highly profitable, as a company, is to become as commercial as possible or start a franchise that you know will be successful. At Bindery 1, however, being family-owned and operated is all that they know.
"Bindery 1 has been around 40 years," Renatta Bolen told Norwalk Times. "We're still family-owned."
Specializing in a wide array of services, Bindery 1 prides themselves on their versatility and ability to complete a project to specification, no matter how precise.
"We specialize in finishing such as book binding, laminating, die cutting, and our mailing division specializes in postal preparation for addressing mail pieces for bulk mail, such as inserting into envelopes, lasering letters and fulfillment," Bolen said. "Our digital department specializes in short-run print projects for generic or personalized pieces and our digital press can print stickers, magnets, window clings, posters and other stationary needs."
While there might be bigger companies that can offer the same services as Bindery 1, there will still be something lacking, and that is a gap that Bindery 1 seeks to fill.
"We offer a vast variety of services that appeal to small and large companies and our machinery is diversified to work on a vast range of specifications," Bolen said.
Finally, as a part of the community for years and years, Bindery 1 finds it important to give back and help the area that has supported them for so many years.
"We donate back to various of nonprofit organization by providing free printing," Bolen said. "We have worked with American Lung Association, Zero Prostate Cancer, Bidwell Riverside, just to name a few."
