The number of Iowa residents taking part in the federal nutrition program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) declined 8.5 percent from fiscal years 2015 to 2019, the U.S. Food and Nutrition Service reported.
The top 1 percent of earners in Iowa are taxed at an effective rate of 7.7 percent, compared to the state’s 10.7 percent tax rate on the middle 20 percent of income earners, according to a new 24/7 Wall St. analysis.
